Toni works for Partners in Health in the front office of the Women's Center scheduling appointments, interacting with patients both in person and on the phone. She says she loves the work, especially multi-tasking, and thinks keeping all the balls in the air is an art form. She delights in seeing the "mommies to be" during their pregnancies and then when they return with their babies. She tells them that PIH moms have the healthiest and prettiest babies. Toni grew up in Bright in the good old days. After graduating from North Dearborn High School she headed off to Indianapolis and Indiana Central College (now the University of Indianapolis) to major in physical education. She worked in Indianapolis for the Bell Telephone System at Western Electric, Bell Laboratories and finally AT&T before retiring with 30 years service. She always thought it would be great to come home to Dearborn County. Those thoughts became a reality when she reconnected with a high school sweetheart whom she hadn't seen in 25 years. She and Gene (retired from South Dearborn School Corporation) married 14 years ago and live in Yorkville. She said that after three months of retirement (at age 50) it was time to look for part time work. She had scheduled an appointment with Dr. Carol Lovins as a new patient when she chanced upon a job opportunity in the local newspaper. She was on the PIH payroll before that appointment with Dr. Lovins. She has been with PIH since 1998. Toni has two adult children, Seth and Courtney who live in Indianapolis.
